A Breif History of Evolution

The BCIT radio program started 44 years ago with only a few classrooms and 25 or so students. It was one of seven departments when the school opened it's doors.

We had a state-of-the-art McCurdy audio console. And for a small period of time we even had an AM transmitter (650AM) that could fill an entire parking lot!

Our CFML had a MOR ( Middle of the road ) format which was nice and all, but for us students, the format missed an opportunity and a demographic - us. We aired the music, but were we listing?

Four years ago we leaped into a new way of thinking, new sound and a new name. Evolution was born with a new AAA (Adult Album Alternative ) format. and two years later we started are FM broadcast on 107.9FM. And shortly after, put streaming audio on the website.

Well, that brings you up to now. Check out our evolutionaries and shows, to keep posted on our future.
