In Sarah's spare time, she likes to: Mountain bike, perform spoken word, run, read, and make arts and crafts, also "traditional games" like Crib abd Scrabble. Sarah's biggest influence is: Anne Marie MacDonald - she's a Candian writer/actric/author. I like how she is good at many different arts and also she wears dress shirts very well. If Sarah could morph into any animal, it would be: Beluga because they are graceful in the water and there is a great song about a baby one. Sarah's favourite colour is: Forest green. In 15 years, Sarah sees herself: Writing, producing and narrating my own show on CBC, or other public radio station. |
I will be biking to work all week this week because it's bike to work week and also because I always bike to work. I will be telling some of my cycling horror stories tomorrow on air. Cars, squirels, toddlers I've colided with them all. I like to bike to work and drive to play and then bike some more. I am talking about mountain biking. My next door neighbour - who I haven't met yet. She also Mountain bikes and I tried to say hi yesterday because I thought we could be bicycle friends - but when I said hi she ignored me. So I guess she... more>
So I have always known I theoretically had abs but they have never really announced themselves. They are not visable and they rarely hurt because i don't do things that make them hurt - that was until yoga. We do leg lifts that make my abs shake and a position called the fish that is nothing like sushi but a lot like strange torture. We need to put our ankles together and life them in the air and lift our heads at the same time. All this while trying to keep our backs flat on the floor.... more>
Yesterday I got to go to a real grown up party. The opening Gala of the Vancouver International Film Festival. I don't often get to go to classy grown up parties. Before the party I went to see blindness and I'll let you know what I thought of that movie in this week's Free Pass on Wednesday. ... more>
I was so excited to start Yoga Class this Thrsday morning. My Tuesday morning Yoga class was very relaxing and I thought how better to stay chill during the school year than Yoga. This is still true, Thursday morning is relaxing, but it will also make me better looking. And by that I mean toned. The emphasis on perfecting poses stretches that strengthen your core have left me feeling sore today. And I am not someone who is usually sore and I am someone who is usually sore. And I do a lot of physical activity I'm a runner, and a... more>
I saw a story on the news about police going into schools and showing kids guns they've taken from schools before. i think that as a kid that would be the most terrifying thing ever. When I go to BCIT everyday I never think that I should have a gun but if someone were to show me the guns they had gotten off other students - that's scary. So this got me thinking about all the ways we use scary stories to try and make kids stay on the straight and narrow. Like even Fairy Tales when Little Red Riding Hood strays off the path she gets eaten.... more>
